Sunday, August 3rd, started like most of LifePointe Christian Church’s other worship services.  But there was something special about to happen.  At 11:00 A.M. nearly all the 190 worshippers in their green LifePointe shirts dispersed to one of the projects below.  What a day of community service!  Lives were touched, ours were blessed!  People saw LifePointe “being” the church.  Thank you for all you did either as a project leader getting things prepared and purchased, or as a helper who eagerly joined the other team members to accomplish the goals for your project.

Here is a list and some pictures of the projects..

MOWING GRASS
We mowed the lawns of some of our seniors in the community as well as those who had spouses deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.

STONEHOUSE LANDSCAPING
We had a crew that landscaped the sign at the entrance to Stonehouse Elementary.  They also created a large stone bed with a starfish in the middle, which is the school's mascot.

RUXTON NURSING HOME VISIT
We had a group (made up of many of our KidPointe members) visit a local nursing home called Ruxton.  While there, they delivered a hand-made card, a flower and a smile to every resident there.

BABY BLANKETS
A group of our ladies created 45 fleece blankets that were delivered to Sentera Williamsburg Regional Hospital.  The blankets will be handed out to infants and children who come to the hospital for care.

 TRASH PICKUP
We had a crew who headed out to Route 60 and picked up trash on a two mile stretch on the road.

 MILITARY CARE PACKAGES
We had a team put together, labeled and shipped 25 care packages to troops stationed abroad.

NORGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GARDEN PROJECT
Our largest project for the day.  Transforming a courtyard area of Norge Elementary into a usable garden area.  This was a HUGE undertaking.

 HOME MAKEOVER
We had a team who went into the home of a local family and stocked their cabinets with food, purchased new furniture, new bed linens, new dishes, cleaned and much much more.

CARNIVAL AND COOKOUT AT BURNT ORDINARY
We had a team who put on a FREE cookout and carnival at a local housing development called Burnt Ordinary.  It was complete with a big tent, hotdogs, hamburgers, games and prizes.
